Exploring the relationship between body and place, this corpus of works reflects on how meaning is formed not only through physical presence but also through memory, longing, and the spaces we carry within us.
In moments of disconnection — feeling the lack of belonging, the distance from familiar grounds, or the pull toward imagined landscapes — This Place of Ours marks both a point of departure and a place of reflection.
Through ten varied practices spanning across photography, video, animation and installations, the works presented here map personal and collective terrains — a shared gesture towards the places we’ve yet to discover.

Mind The Gap is an invitation to sit in the spaces between. In an attempt to bridge past and present, perception and reality, and self and other, nine artists negotiate meaning through the lens. To mind the gap is to acknowledge its presence. The show culminates as a collective effort to mend the unequal relationship between photographer and subject.
Through varied approaches to image-making, the exhibition explores themes of the human condition, relationships and connection. As the boundaries of photography continue to expand, this showcase becomes a space for dialogue—where images serve as sites for contemplation.
By bringing together distinct perspectives, the exhibition reflects the evolving intersections of art and society, positioning photography not just as a record of the present, but as a lens through which we reimagine ways of seeing and understanding the world.

I'm here* trying to look at my Gmaps and the street names are all written in Vietnamese, which is a little confusing. There are so many things to see, and I’m lowkey confused about what I'm doing here and what I'm doing tomorrow either. I had some Pho by the roadside and watched the motorcycles honk their way past me- the next moment I realised I'm at this mountain village where the ducks are swimming in a sidewalk canal? Did I mention that we had a guard dog? Anyways, we ran out of hot water and it was goddamn freezing!!! Oh, right, you were asking me where I was?
I was here*.
In *Vietnam.
here* is about being present in a foreign place.
In 2024, via the Location Experience module, we explored two culturally distinct cities, seeing new places through both a physical and inner lens by looking at the self through the place and the place through the self.
As we navigate unfamiliar spaces, editing becomes a process of wayfinding, mirroring how we move through the city. Through this, we condensed fragmented experiences, positioning our foreign selves within new surroundings.
From the ground up, from inanimate objects to animated beings, photography becomes a tool for making sense of this dislocation—picturing typologies of local sights, capturing interactions, and visualizing time and place.
Being here* is the process of trying to tether ourselves to a place that is not yet familiar, not yet fully realised.

Drawing parallels between these adaptive flowers and the twenty-something age group, the theme delves into the struggle for a place to take root. The manicured lawns symbolise the societal expectations and sterile environments that can stifle individual growth. Yet, a cluster of common daisies signifies the collective strength to thrive and take up space in seemingly inhospitable surroundings, acknowledging the harsh reality of societal expectations and the relentless battle for individual growth.
Common Daisies is a multidimensional exhibition that delves into familial dialogues, societal expectations, and depictions of love. The curated works also explore the poignant theme of memory loss over time, navigating the delicate balance between recollection and forgetfulness.
The exhibition features time-based works that capture the fleeting nature of experience and suggest the potential for healing and transformation over time.
This nuanced exploration of human complexities aims to create a contemplative space, inviting viewers to reflect on the intricacies of life, love, and the inevitable passage of time.
